The third national anthem for Pakistan, Naghma-e-Firdousi, is about a Persian scholar who lived during Sassanian Iran before Islam established its rule there. This particular national song of Pakistan has been sung over and over again because the lyrics are deep and have many meanings to offer when read or heard. For example:
Translation: I am that person from whose source all blessings flow; And my life history is told through heart rending tales; To me belongs every high station imaginable; Prayers turn into incense, which I then offer up.
