The internet or anything like that. I’m going to go through what you need to delete text from your computer and any device that uses a keyboard.
Step One: Delete Text Messages Off Of Your Phone Or Tablet
Open up the setting on your phone or tablet by clicking “Settings” at the top of your screen, then click on Data Usage > Manage Storage (iOS) > Clear All Items (Android). Choose either “All Messages” if it’s just messages or select each type individually if there are other things you would like deleted as well such. If this message pops up saying “Do Not Select This,” simply deselect all items in order for them not to be selected and continue onto step two.
Step Two: Delete Text Messages From Your Computer
Open up your phone’s text messages and copy the conversations you would like to delete. If on a Mac, press cmd+c. On Windows, hold down ctrl as well as shift while pressing enter or right click and select paste shortcut from this menu.) After copying these into notepad (or preferred word processing program) do what it says in step one for deletion via that device’s settings or alternatively go to google drive > Google Docs > New Document button at top of screen, then use Ctrl+V./ Command+V. In order to save them onto the document we just created make sure there is no other content on the page aside from what was copied over from the text messages.
Note: If you are on a Mac, when creating your new document don’t use the word processing program that came with it. Instead choose to create one in either Pages or Microsoft Word for Windows. The key is making sure there isn’t anything else in that document because if so all of what was copied from your phone will be deleted as well.
Step Three: Delete Text Messages From Your Phone
Do this by opening up settings and going into Applications > Default Apps > Communications > Selecting “Delete Chats” then selecting which ones you want to delete from both recent conversations and archived chats (if applicable). Have we reached step three yet? Good! Now onward!
