It all started with Street Fighter 4. Ken was the first one to take home a championship, but his reign ended after he lost to Sean in an exhibition match. Ever since then, it seems like every other year someone new takes the title from whoever is reigning at that time. This year’s season has been especially brutal with 3 different champions so far: Alex, Ryan and finally Sean who took down last year’s champion in a nail-biting final round match. We’ll have to wait until next week when Chris and Ryan face off for the right to be crowned king of SF4!

In the world of competitive fighting games, it’s not uncommon for players to dedicate their entire lives to mastering one game. The technique and strategies for this game are so deep and nuanced that its difficult for beginners or newbies even start designing effective combos. But don’t worry! We’ve compiled some beginner-friendly resources about SFIV combo basics over on our blog called “SFIV Combo Basics”. Street Fighter IV is one of the best fighting games ever made. It was released in 2008 and has been a part of many gamers’ lives for almost 10 years now. Street Fighter V did not have the same impact as it lacked features that were loved by fans from the previous game, such as story mode with cinematic cutscenes, arcade mode, character endings and more. Many players are against Capcom’s decision to release a new version so soon after releasing SFV which left many fans disappointed. We’re going to take a look at some possible reasons why this happened and what could be next for SF4 competitive play.
The best way to win a game of Street Fighter IV is by playing at the highest level possible, and this comes from hours upon hours of practice on your own or with others online or in person if you have access to someone who’s really good! Playing against people who are much better than you will push your skills far more quickly than just training by yourself, so keep an eye open for those opportunities whenever they arise. If there isn’t anyone available nearby then try using one of many different fighting games communities online where players congregate together and play ranked matches all day long (check our blog post about “Fighting Game Communities” too)!
