Gamers have been disappointed by Ubisoft for a long time, but now they are on the verge of a petition campaign. The reason? A ubisoft service is currently unavailable. Because of this, gamers can’t play a number of games that they had previously purchased from Ubisoft’s online store.
Ubisoft made their announcement about the outage last Tuesday and said it would be back up as soon as possible. However, when it became clear that there was no ETA for when the problem would be fixed, gamers started to become increasingly frustrated with Ubisoft’s lackadaisical approach to customer service and rightfully so!
Gamers are now taking to the internet and social media, calling for a petition campaign. They’re looking to get 100K signatures on their Change.Org petition in order to send it off to Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot with a strong message: fix your service or be prepared for more people than ever not giving you money!
I am writing this blog post to share my thoughts and opinions on Ubisoft’s recent decisions relating to their latest game, Assassin’s Creed Unity. I would like to point out that many gamers are disappointed in how the company has handled the production of this title. Furthermore, a petition campaign was started by gamers requesting for an increased number of playable characters and better graphics quality in order for them to enjoy the game. These points have been met with strong opposition from Ubisoft as they state that these changes will cause delays and there is not enough time left before release.
The reason gamers can’t play those games is that they connect through Uplay (Ubisoft’s online store). The issue stems from an outage of a ubisoft service called “beta-updater.” When players try connecting, they receive an error code 0008000B stating that there was no connection available at this time. A ubisoft representative clarified by saying that because of the beta-updater outage, players are unable to play any of the recent Ubisoft games.
Many gamers are feeling disappointed in Ubisoft after the company announced that it would be delaying two of its most anticipated games, Watch Dogs 2 and The Division. Many people are wondering if these delays will affect their decision to purchase either game or not. As a result, many gamers have already started signing an online petition for Ubisoft to release the game as scheduled.
As usual these days with a popular game release, gamers were expecting things to run smoothly and without error but that’s not what happened. Gamers quickly took to social media in order to express their frustrations with this issue including comments on YouTube videos about how they can’t play because of the “beta-updater” being down or unavailable. One such comment states that Ubisoft should have a backup plan for such an event.
I am writing to you today because I believe that game developers, such as Ubisoft, have lost our trust. Gamers are disappointed in Ubisoft due to their recent release of Assassin’s Creed Unity and Rainbow Six Siege. These games were released with a number of bugs and glitches that made them unplayable for many gamers. In response to this disappointment, gamers launched a petition campaign on Change.org asking for the removal of paid DLC from these games until they can be fixed or properly played by all players without any issues. If you agree with me about the issue at hand please add your signature to the petition!
