Peyton List is a talented actress and singer, but she didn’t always want to be in the spotlight. She was born in Texas on January 22nd, 1993, and grew up with her younger sister Mandi. Her father passed away when she was 14 years old from pancreatic cancer. Peyton attended a private school for girls called Westlake High School where she discovered her love of performing. When Peyton first auditioned for Modern Family as Alex Dunphy at age 18 years old, it was because the show’s casting director happened to be sitting near her at lunch! This ended up being a great opportunity for both Peyton and Mandi who also made an appearance on the show!
As soon as Peyton got the role of Alex, she knew that this was what she wanted to do for a long time. She also went back to school and attended UCLA where she studied Communication Studies. With her opportunity on Modern Family, it made getting into college much easier because they only take kids with high GPAs!
Peyton is no stranger when it comes to singing either; in 2011, she released an EP called “I’m Just Me” which included four songs written by herself and one song co-written with Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20! The following year in 2012, she joined Delta Goodrem as lead vocalist of their new band Youthful Praise alongside Dannii Minogue on drums. Together they recorded two songs “Good Morning Sunshine” and “A Little Too Late”.
