“Stunning Adjectives We Have Come To Love”
A blog post about stunning adjectives and how they often do not require more words to be used accurately for the sake of describing something beautiful in just one word. I feel as though people have come to rely on much less skillful language without realizing it because everything is so easily accessible with the click or tap of a button whether that’s social media, texting, messaging apps like WhatsApp, etcetera. The truth is that these languages mostly lack eloquence; there isn’t any room left for phrases such as “I am astounded by your beauty,” when we can simply say “You’re gorgeous.”
In essence, the ability to use stunning adjectives in our language has been diminished because of social media and text messaging. It’s a shame really, those who were once able to create beautiful phrases that are now gone forever–lost within digital pages on your phone or laptop screen.
Nina Simone said it best when she sang: “What is this life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare.”
