Waking up in the morning, there are many things that can make it frustrating. The alarm clock goes off, and you’re not even tired anymore. You have to drag yourself out of bed to get ready for work or school. There’s no time for breakfast because you don’t want to be late again-and then there’s your commute! It can feel like a never ending cycle of frustration until finally, you’ve arrived at wherever it is that you need to be.
Most mornings we wake up with a sense of accomplishment and relief knowing that we survived another day–but what about those days when waking up just feels frustrating? Perhaps today will be one of those difficult mornings where nothing seems right–you just know that the day isn’t going to go well. Why is that?

Here are nine ways morning can be so frustrating:
The alarm clock goes off and you’re not even tired anymore, like when it’s summer or your kids just won’t let you sleep in one more minute–you hit snooze but that only makes things worse because now there is no time for breakfast! You’ve been up too long without a break.
You have to drag yourself out of bed when all you want to do is sleep some more. It feels as though every bone in your body wants to stay under those covers and never get up–but then comes that sensation where everything feels sluggish and heavy…and this seems counterintuitive since we usually feel light and productive when we first wake up.
You’re so hungry, but you just can’t think of anything to eat other than eggs or cereal–and it’s too early for either! It doesn’t matter if you slept well, what time your last meal was, the hours spent in a car on the freeway…you need food right now.
The heat from this unusually hot summer is driving you crazy as there are no easy solutions like AC that will make things better. You’ve been sweating all night already and even though morning seems cooler outside (temperature wise), everything feels damp inside because of how humid it has become overnight.
Your partner wakes up before you do which means they get to shower while your hair is greasy and you’re still wearing your pajamas.
You have a train to catch but cannot find the time because all of the clocks in the house are wrong (or broken). You end up having to race through getting ready, barely eating anything before running out the door with loose hair as if you just rolled out of bed.
As soon as you step outside, it feels nice and cool until an intense scorching heat hits you for no reason–thanks global warming! Your forehead starts dripping sweat into both eyes which forces me to wipe my face every couple minutes during your walk…and then people think I’m gross or sick when they see that I’ve got two wet spots on either side from wiping off excess sweat.
You’re waiting in line for coffee at the cafe and they don’t have your usual so you settle on a different flavor because you can’t wait any longer. You’ve been up since like, what time is it? And now all of sudden somebody runs into you from behind…because they didn’t see that I was right there standing in front of them!
While trying to decide whether or not to buy something online, the price keeps fluctuating which makes me want to give up but then it goes back down again (and made my heart jump). Why does this even happen?!
When someone tells a joke about how “awkward” some situation is–but then they get their words mixed up b/c they’re either not that funny or just don’t know how to tell a joke
When someone points out something so obvious and it’s like, “you really need glasses” or “seriously? You didn’t notice?”
People who stand in front of the mirror for WAY too long before leaving. I cannot wait any longer…I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!
